President Trump is considering comprehensive new sanctions against Russia following Vladimir Putin’s decision to launch the war’s largest air assault, involving 367 projectiles that killed at least 12 Ukrainian civilians. The president’s shift toward punitive measures marks a significant departure from his previous reluctance to impose additional economic penalties on Moscow.
When pressed by reporters about implementing new sanctions, Trump responded definitively: “Absolutely. He’s killing a lot of people. What the hell happened to him?” The president’s newfound willingness to pursue economic warfare against Russia comes after Putin deployed 298 drones and 69 missiles in coordinated strikes across Ukrainian territory during the weekend.
