Historic Trailer Becomes First in the World to Reach 1 Billion Views

Date:

The Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer has made cinema history by becoming the first promotional film trailer to reach one billion views. Released on March 17, the trailer hit this unprecedented milestone in only four days. Tom Holland’s continued tenure as Spider-Man has produced a phenomenon unlike anything Hollywood has ever seen in a promotional campaign.

The trailer’s first-day performance alone was spectacular, accumulating 718.6 million views. This surpassed the record held by Deadpool & Wolverine’s Super Bowl teaser at 365 million, the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer’s 355.5 million, and the Grand Theft Auto VI reveal’s 475 million in a day. Brand New Day’s opening numbers were more than 50% higher than the previous record holder.

WaveMetrix’s data confirmed the 1.1 billion total by Tuesday, a figure that has no precedent in trailer history. It surpasses records held by films across every genre and franchises across every medium. The Brand New Day trailer has become a defining event in the history of modern entertainment marketing.

The film opens July 31, with direction from Destin Daniel Cretton and a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The ensemble cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando. Indian fans will enjoy the film in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and English.

The story picks up with a world that has no memory of Peter Parker’s heroics or identity, as he battles new threats while reconnecting with a forgotten version of himself. Fan reactions swept across the internet within hours of the trailer’s release. With its history-making trailer now etched permanently into the record books, Brand New Day has the world’s eyes firmly fixed on its July 31 premiere.
