Democrats Question Trump’s Use of Technology in Military and Election Strategies

Date:

Democratic lawmakers have taken a significant step by introducing a resolution aimed at halting U.S. military actions against alleged drug traffickers in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific. They contend that these military strikes, which have resulted in numerous casualties, lack congressional authorization and fail to ensure due process. The legislators have expressed concern over the increasing number of deaths linked to these operations, while questioning the effectiveness of the campaign. They have accused the administration of circumventing Congress and have urged an immediate cessation of the military initiative.

In a separate development, Senator Richard Blumenthal has voiced criticism of the U.S. Postal Service’s newly implemented system intended to manage the processing of millions of mail-in ballots for the upcoming midterm elections. Blumenthal highlighted that issues raised by a whistleblower regarding the system remain insufficiently addressed. According to the whistleblower, technical problems associated with the scanning system could potentially lead to the rejection of entire batches of ballots.

The Postal Service, in response, has stated that they are currently reviewing the concerns and assured that the federal ballot mail system was developed over several months in compliance with court orders. However, Blumenthal has dismissed this response, arguing that voters require stronger guarantees that their ballots will be accurately delivered and counted.
