In a significant diplomatic engagement, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed participated in a high-level phone call with regional leaders and US President Donald Trump. The discussion centered around the ongoing tensions with Iran and the collective efforts to ensure security and stability in the Gulf region.
The dialogue focused on diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and fostering stronger regional cooperation amid persistent instability. The call included prominent leaders such as Bahrain’s King Hamad, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, and Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.
This conversation took place against the backdrop of the United States indicating progress in its negotiations with Iran, with officials hinting that a potential agreement could be imminent.
The UAE, along with several Gulf nations, has been subjected to missile and drone attacks initiated by Iran since the conflict erupted on February 28. Although a temporary ceasefire had halted hostilities earlier in the year, recent attacks have reignited concerns about the security of the region.
