Hamas condemned the strike as a “clear violation” of the Trump-brokered agreement. Israel claimed it targeted Islamic Jihad militants.
As the truce frays, Netanyahu is asserting control. He declared Sunday that “Israel will determine which forces are unacceptable to us,” a position he says the US supports.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in Israel, backed this, stating the force must be “comfortable” for Israel and must exclude Hamas.
The ceasefire is also under pressure from a slow exchange of remains, which has prompted a public warning from Donald Trump to Hamas.
