The 98th Academy Awards nominations were announced this evening by Lewis Pullman and Danielle Brooks, featuring two standout films. “Sinners” and “One Battle After Another” clearly stood out among nominees.
Their standout status emerged through comprehensive recognition across categories. Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” stood out with nominations in directing, cinematography, production design, costume design, sound design, visual effects, and acting. The extensive acknowledgment demonstrates its exceptional quality.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” stood out equally through nominations in directing, adapted screenplay, multiple acting categories, cinematography, and sound design. The film’s comprehensive excellence impressed Academy voters.
Other standout achievements include performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, and Michael B. Jordan. The diversity of standout work showcases contemporary cinema’s strength. Unfortunately, “Homebound” failed to stand out.
Cinema’s biggest celebration arrives on March 15 when the 98th Academy Awards take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air at 7 p.m. ET on ABC, where standout nominees will compete for Oscar gold.
