Seven More Nations Face Tariff Threat as Trump Draws Deadline Line

Date:

President Trump is widening the net of his trade reform campaign, with more nations set to receive letters about pending tariffs. The objective: force faster trade negotiations by raising economic stakes.
Following letters sent to 14 countries earlier this week, the latest batch aims to send a clear signal: the United States will no longer tolerate one-sided trade arrangements. Tariffs between 25% and 40% are on the table.
Amid the hardline posture, Trump pointed to progress. Deals with China and the UK have been completed, while talks with India are entering their final stage, offering some diplomatic wins for his strategy.
Although the original deadline was July 9, it has been pushed to August 1. Still, Trump insists the extension will not happen again. “All money will be due,” he declared, making enforcement inevitable.
