Rhombus Unveils Cloud-Managed Single-Door Access Controller for Enhanced Security

Date:

Rhombus has unveiled the DC10 Single-Door Controller, a new device aimed at enhancing cloud-based access control for single-door environments. Designed to integrate directly with Rhombus’s cloud platform, the controller enables remote management, lockdown capabilities, and connectivity with various smart sensors, presenting a streamlined solution for secure access in compact spaces.

The DC10’s compact design facilitates installation in locations like offices, retail stores, restaurants, gyms, and isolated entrances where traditional multi-door controllers may be impractical. The device is equipped with one wet/dry relay, one dry auxiliary relay, and four supervised or unsupervised inputs, which can be used for functions such as request-to-exit and door position monitoring. Its IK08-rated and plenum-mountable design allows it to be discreetly installed near protected doors, including above drop ceilings and in other confined areas.

Power and connectivity are delivered through a single cable, thanks to the controller’s support for 90 W PoE++ and PoE passthrough. This feature also allows the connection of a nearby camera. Furthermore, the DC10 includes built-in connectivity for Rhombus environmental, intrusion, and motion sensors, as well as panic buttons, extending its range of functionality with a line-of-sight range of up to 100 meters.

The device’s Ethernet and Wi-Fi capabilities ensure that it maintains cloud access, enabling operators to manage doors remotely without the need for an on-site server. This innovation extends the reach of cloud-based access control to smaller or distributed locations, while simplifying the installation process and reducing infrastructure demands.
